I installed Google Chrome on Linux Mint so I can run Facebook Messenger for video chat with friends. I've created a live USB for testing the new Xubuntu 12.04, and will try this alongside Vivaldi on that (alongside the recent RAW editor releases I use) in considering next steps. I get no ego satisfaction or joy from using the Linux Terminal or chasing down "issues" or workarounds. I have been trying the new Vivaldi, pretty good off the bat and seems to work on all OSs. I use Firefox on PC but dislike it on mobile, so have installed Edge but there's no Linux. For years Opera was best all around, but it's now suspiciously Chinese owned, and even less appealing than Chrome for "real me" interaction. Chrome / Chromium does all and I use it as the silo for Google services, but won't give it anything personal. My basic criteria are full features, cross-platform, full sync of settings and liking the interface.

I'm using Android browsers more, in preference to installing bloated and resource draining apps, but am still mainly concerned with PC use - Mint is my daily driver with residual Win 7 as needed.
